I'm happy about this and really concerned at the same time... Rice Junior pitchers Philip Humber, Jeff Niemann, and Wade Townsend were picked 3rd, 4th, and 8th respectively in today's Major League draft by the Mets, Devil Rays, and Orioles. I haven't seen any official word on whether any of the three are planning on going pro.

It was a gut-wrenching end to Rice Owls Baseball's title defense. After taking a late lead with what looked like our own heroics, A&M's #9 hitter drove a grand slam over the right-field wall. Tough to handle.

We'll get 'em next year.
